Tulum. Quintana Roo is 13 days away from becoming the first state in the country to have four international airports, stated Governor Mara Lezama when participating in the supervision meeting led by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador on the progress of the construction works of the airport.

During the joint evaluation meetings held by the heads of the federal and state executive, they emphasized that the Maya Train will begin operations on December 15, while the Tulum Felipe Carrillo Puerto international airport will do so on the first of the same month.

The president, accompanied by the governor, carried out overflights over the works of sections 4 and 5 of the Mayan Train, in addition to holding work meetings for the evaluation of the infrastructure projects of the municipality of Benito Juárez and the Jaguar Park.

In this first stage, the Campeche-Cancún, Quintana Roo section of the Maya Train has three stations Nuevo Xcán, Leona Vicario and Cancún.

It is worth mentioning that at the beginning of the month four additional cars of the Mayan Train arrived in Cancun, which will be part of another train that will cover the Palenque-Cancún route.

The convoy, escorted by members of the National Guard, entered on the Mérida-Cancún highway and is under protection in the Cancún garage workshop.

The four newly arrived cars on the Mayan Train have capacity for 230 passengers in their four-car configuration.
