Rebeca “N” and Cecilia María “N”, associates of Derimaya, are accused of fraudulent administration involving an amount of over 250 million pesos.

Two women were arrested by police elements in Tijuana, accused of fraudulent administration within their partnership at Desarrolladora de la Riviera Maya (Derimaya), responsible for the regularization of properties in the Luis Donaldo Colosio neighborhood in Playa del Carmen.

According to official information provided by the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Quintana Roo, a control judge issued an arrest warrant against the women, identified as Rebeca “N” and Cecilia María “N”.

The operation was carried out after they were allegedly involved in acts constituting the crime of fraudulent administration, for an amount exceeding 250 million pesos.

Preliminary data indicated that the arrest took place at the Tijuana airport, where the two women intended to travel to the United States, in an attempt to evade Quintana Roo and Mexican justice.

Fortunately, the FGE Quintana Roo requested a red notice with the corresponding migration alerts from Interpol Mexico, which prevented Rebeca “N” and Cecilia María “N” from boarding the plane to the neighboring country.

According to information from the autonomous police body, the events that led to the arrest warrant occurred in 2017, when both formed a partnership with the Desarrolladora de la Riviera Maya (Derimaya) and the Secretariat of Sustainable Urban Territorial Development (Sedetus) in 2017.

The commercial partnership aimed to carry out contracts for the sale of properties in Playa del Carmen, especially those in the Luis Donaldo Colosio neighborhood, whose inhabitants claimed the delivery of their property titles.

The complaint against Derimaya occurred during an assembly on November 24, 2021, when various administrative irregularities in fiscal matters were detected among the parties, which were not resolved despite multiple requests made by Sedetus.

After the judge issued the arrest warrant, the FGE and FGR worked together to locate and arrest the alleged perpetrators; once the legal procedures were completed, both were transferred to Quintana Roo, where they were made available to the Control Judge for the corresponding proceedings.
