The alleged leader of a criminal group, identified by the authorities as the main generator of violence in Solidarity, identified as Manuel Edmundo, alias “Mau”, apparently linked to seven executions that occurred between 2021 and 2023, was arrested during an operation carried out by authorities of the three levels of government.
According to ministerial sources, among his victims are four elements of the Inspectorate and a policewoman.
The arrest of the 36-year-old man, an alleged multi-homicide who was wanted by the authorities, was unofficially announced, who, as a result of investigations, managed to link him to high-impact events that occurred in this municipal seat.
Due to the above, the hunt for him began, and yesterday morning it emerged that he was arrested during an operation carried out by authorities from the three levels of Government.
Since October 2021, when the body of a municipal police officer was located, to date, in Playa del Carmen there have been 152 homicides related to organized crime, according to the criminal incidence of the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP), of which he could have participated in seven.
Other homicides in which he is related were that of the four inspection workers, who were deprived of their liberty and life inside the La Cueva bar, last February, whose bodies with their throats cut were in the bed of a truck, which, at the time, served as a patrol of the Municipal Police.
