For next July 1st, the Spanish chain will be opening the Riu Dunamar Hotel in Costa Mujeres and the Riu Palace and Playacar in Riviera Maya, with which it will reach 7 open hotels. Monje pointed out that these openings are due to the demand that the chain has had, which plans to reach 30% occupancy in July, the maximum allowed according to the traffic light that keeps the destination orange.

He stressed that at the beginning, although they were very far from reaching that percentage of occupancy, things became more lively, and when they saw that the Peninsula and the Caribbean were approaching the permitted occupancy, they had to bring forward the opening of the two hotels that were They are also located in the hotel zone of Cancun.

Likewise, he said that the scenario they perceived as having a higher percentage of Mexican tourists, which has been the case, followed by Americans, who have gradually come to life. He noted that the national market has reacted very favorably, which they hope will continue to be so and connectivity will continue to increase, as this will mark what happens in the coming weeks. He assured that this market reaction is due to the promotions and special rates that they have achieved with their commercial partners since they were not part of the destination campaign.

He said that although one of its strong markets is the European one, it is not yet known with certainty when they will be arriving, since it is not at all clear, although he announced that the flights from Spain that will begin to arrive in the second half of July are confirmed. “But the rest of the European markets, which are very important to us, such as the English, Belgians, French, Germans, and Dutch, it is not clear when they will begin to arrive, we believe that they will arrive by the end of summer, the beginning of autumn,” he said.

Likewise, he said that the openings in the hotels of Playa del Carmen will be given according to the demand that exists since he recalled that the destination is more demanded by Latinos and Europeans, and as these come, the properties will be opened.
