The new Cancun passport issuance headquarters will be in Plaza Marina Puerto Cancun with facilities covering 1,722 square meters.

Meanwhile, the Mérida office will be located in The Harbor shopping center and will have 2,028 square meters of service space, which makes it five times larger than the current facilities.

According to the federal agency, the turnkey mechanism was used to lease the facilities. In Cancun, the monthly rent will go from 238 pesos per square meter to 59.

In Mérida, the rent per square meter will also be 59 pesos when at the current headquarters it is 106 pesos. Thus, the monthly amounts will remain at 101,646 and 119,684 pesos, respectively.

Both passport offices will be equipped with 12 biometric stations that will allow greater user service; Both in Cancun and Mérida, 240 appointments were attended per day, in the new facilities it is expected to attend up to 2,280 daily appointments.

The two venues will have a playroom and a lactation room and will operate from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. from Monday to Sunday.
