Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo.- The Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) revealed that the two bricklayers who were executed last Wednesday, April 21st, by armed men, were engaged in selling drugs at the construction site.
They also stated that this case is related to a dispute between two organized crime groups that want to keep control of the sale of drugs in the continental part of Isla Mujeres.
The Ministerial Police reported that the two bricklayers were identified by their relatives, who appeared before the Public Ministry of the Common Law to claim the bodies.
As reported by Novedades Quintana Roo, it was around noon last Wednesday, April 21st, when the two bricklayers were executed after being forcibly removed by armed men from the construction site of a hotel located on the mainland of Isla Mujeres.
This caused a strong police mobilization between the Riu and Grand Palladium hotels. First reports indicated that a group of four armed people entered a hotel under construction located on the Isla Blanca highway at around 12:42 p.m. and took two bricklayers out by force, took them to the bike path in front of the entrance of the construction site, and he executed them with two bullets in the head.
This is not the first time that this type of situation has been recorded with construction workers since there are already several who have been executed and others are missing in Quintana Roo.
