The third phase of the Jaguar National Park started in Tulum, where it was reported that six public accesses to the beach are being contemplated through the Urban Improvement Program (PMU) with an investment of more than 189 million pesos.

The municipal president of Tulum, Diego Castañón, reported that the first stage is already completed. “It is about the 21-kilometer perimeter fence and the rest modules on Coba avenue. The second stage is advancing, which is the southern access and the remodeling of the road to the beaches.”

Through a statement, it was specified that two new accesses to the beach are being built and four that already exist are being rehabilitated, by the Secretariat of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development (SEDATU).

In coordination with the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH), 22 thousand square meters will be intervened in the archaeological zone; Landscape projects are included, modules for the ordering of beaches and the opening of new spaces for the contemplation of archaeological remains.

“We are working with hoteliers to reduce the impact of these facades; It is contemplated to include vegetation, lighting and standardize the design of the establishments that are already there. The roads that connect with the northern part of the Mayan Train and the most important museum in the region are also being improved,” explained Román Meyer, head of the agency.
