Last night, a family consisting of a father, mother, and their 10-year-old daughter was shot at in the invasion area known as “Las Torres” in Playa del Carmen. The Municipal Police transported the injured family members to a hospital and, following an operation, apprehended seven suspects.
Around 9:00 PM, emergency services received reports of gunshots, indicating that three people were injured. Municipal officers arrived at the scene and found a man, a woman, and a young girl wounded by gunfire.
According to preliminary reports, the family was attacked while traveling in a vehicle. They were promptly transported to the General Hospital of Playa del Carmen, where their conditions are reported as stable.
Without wasting time, the officers swiftly implemented a search operation for the suspects involved in the attack. As a result, seven men were apprehended. Authorities confiscated a firearm, 22 live cartridges, one spent cartridge, 16 packets containing possible crystal meth, seven with what appears to be crack cocaine, and five with possible marijuana.
The detainees include: Antonio ‘N’, aged 40; Víctor ‘N’, aged 20; Ángel ‘N’, aged 18; and Mauricio ‘N’, aged 38, all originally from Chiapas. Additionally, Antonio ‘N’, aged 30, and Reynaldo ‘N’, aged 28, are from Bacalar, while Silverio ‘N’, aged 29, from Yucatán.
These individuals were apprehended in the irregular Las Torres neighborhood after being accused of shooting at a vehicle and injuring three people, including a 10-year-old girl. Subsequently, the detained individuals were handed over to the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) for further investigation.
