At least six officials from the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) were dismissed over allegations of embezzling six million pesos intended for Christmas bonuses.
The officials, including Rubén Zarif Ávalos Garnica (Director of Administration and Finance), Armando Guadalupe Dzib Cupul (Director of Financial Resources), Marte Paolo Cárdenas Fernández (Deputy Director of Accounting), Maritza Gómez Betancourt (Director of Human Resources), and Manuel Villanueva Chan (Director of Material Resources and General Services), allegedly received the funds last December.
Replacements have been named: Sergio Chab Ruiz as Director of Administration and Finance, Marcela Pacheco Poot as Director of Financial Resources, Rosario Castillo Villanueva as Director of Human Resources, and Alberto Alfaro Hernández as Director of Material Resources and General Services.
While corruption investigations are pending and the possibility of additional involvement remains uncertain, the FGE has yet to officially confirm these changes.
