The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Quintana Roo (FGE) arrested José Roberto “N”, the Cancun taxi driver accused of sexually abusing a woman. This story was made known through a complaint published on social media.
Taxi driver arrested for allegedly abusing a woman in Cancun
The FGE reported that, yesterday Monday, the subject who allegedly drugged a passenger and took her to a motel in Cancun to abuse her was arrested. The complaint, published on social media, mentions that on November 30, a young woman took a taxi on Kabah Avenue in Cancun and sent a message to let them know she was on her way; afterward, they heard nothing from her.
According to the complainant, the taxi driver drugged the girl in the vehicle and took advantage of the fact that she was unconscious to take her to a motel. The receptionists at the place assure that the young woman arrived unconscious.
“Two hours later, she woke up in a motel with the taxi driver on top of her, she fought him and locked herself in the bathroom, when the guy rushed to flee, she managed to take two photos of him before he came up and tried to hit her,” the post on social media mentions
After filing a complaint, the FGE acted to arrest José Roberto “N”; the authorities mention that the detainee is also accused of disobedience and resistance of individuals.
On the other hand, the governor of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama, told the press that she will not allow any type of abuse against society and that the three levels of government are working together on security matters.
