American tourist escapes from kidnappers in Cancún’s 248 region

Authorities carried out an operation at the Cancun General Hospital to treat and transfer a young woman from Oregon, United States, who claimed to have been deprived of her freedom in Superblock 248.

The events occurred shortly before noon on Tuesday, March 12, when the Municipal Police received a call for help from the Villas del Mar subdivision

The agents, accompanied by a private ERUM ambulance, provided medical care to the foreigner and transferred her to the General Hospital, while they were escorted by a GEAVIG patrol.

The young woman, from Oregon, reported that she was in Cancun on vacation with friends and claimed to have been the victim of a kidnapping in a residence in Superblock 248 in Cancun.

After escaping, she was found wandering along Kabah Avenue, which alerted locals, who immediately notified the authorities about the situation.

The State Attorney General’s Office assumed responsibility for investigating this case. The authorities have initiated the corresponding investigations to verify the veracity of the young woman’s statement and clarify the details surrounding her alleged deprivation of liberty.
