A video shared on X shows the moment when the yacht, with passengers on board, is engulfed in flames at sea.
Apparently, the vessel belongs to one of the luxury companies that offer experiences and adventures in the Caribbean Sea. According to local media, the passengers had to be evacuated, and members of the Navy arrived at the scene.
Reports indicate that the incident occurred between Cancún and Isla Mujeres, off the coast near Playa el Niño. Emergency teams promptly responded to a 911 call about the yacht fire, arriving in boats.
Images on social media show the thick plume of smoke and the white yacht engulfed in flames. The exact cause of the fire remains unknown at this time, but reports suggest it may have started due to a mechanical failure.
