One of the most prominent tourist centers and businesses in Mexico is the one located in the Riviera Maya, Xcaret.
This place is considered an example of sustainable tourism recreation in Mexico since it began operations.
However, its history is more than 40 years old thanks to the idea of some brothers who, when they sold their home furniture, started this business.
The owner who revolutionized Xcaret
The history of this tourist center begins in 1984, according to what was published on his website, the architect Miguel Quintana Pali acquired five hectares in the Riviera Maya to build his residence.
However, when he decided to start clearing the land, he discovered that it had cenotes and underground rivers.
After the find, Miguel Quintana Pal devised to create a park so that everyone would have access to the natural beauties of the region.
To achieve this, he decided to form an alliance with the brothers Oscar, Marcos and Carlos Constandse Madrazo, who after several months of talks, materialized the idea of this park which they called Xcaret after contributing 60 more hectares to the original land.
The park opened in December 1990 and since then, it has been recognized as one of the most famous attractions of the Cancun-Riviera Maya tourist destination.
Currently, the main owner of Xcaret is the architect Miguel Quintana Pal, however the partners who are also part of the board of directors are the Constandse Madrazo brothers.
Xcaret park is not the only one, the family of this tourist center is also made up of Xel-Há, Xplor, Xplor Fuego, Xavage, Xoximilco, Xenses and Tour Xenotes.
