The State Government, through the Quintana Roo Mobility Institute, is driving the transformation of public transportation in the capital with the Tu Ruta Chetumal program, a strategy that seeks to modernize the service, improve connectivity, and guarantee safer, more accessible, and more efficient commutes for citizens.

This project is part of the New Agreement for Well-being and Development, committed to more organized urban mobility with a social focus.

The mobility model includes a total of 9 strategic routes designed to cover different points in the city.

Currently, the system operates with 4 pilot routes that serve as a foundation for consolidating the service. The goal is to evaluate its performance and subsequently enable the remaining 5 routes to complete the comprehensive transportation network in Chetumal.

The first routes were selected due to their high demand and connection to key areas such as hospitals, schools, and workplaces.

The Caribe Route connects the western part of the city with important commercial areas.
The Sian Ka’an – Las Américas Route serves residential areas with high population density.
The Calzada Veracruz Route crosses main thoroughfares and connects to the city center.
The 4 de Marzo Route facilitates mobility to the northern part of the city.
Affordable Fares
The system implements an inclusive fare structure that seeks to benefit different sectors of the population.

The general fare is 15 pesos.
The preferential fare is 10 pesos for students and senior citizens with valid ID.
People with disabilities travel free of charge upon presentation of official identification.
In addition, every Sunday the service is completely free for the general public, promoting mobility and equitable access.

Service Hours and Quality

The service operates from Monday to Sunday. 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The vehicles are designed to offer greater comfort and safety, with trained operators and a system of designated stops that helps manage traffic flow and improve travel times.

To receive discounts, users must present valid identification upon boarding.

Senior citizens must present their INAPAM or INE card.
People with disabilities must have official accreditation issued by the corresponding authorities.
