The Frida Kahlo by Woman Experiences museum in Tulum offers a unique sensory journey that delves into the most intimate secrets of Frida Kahlo’s life and work. Created with advanced technology, this museum allows visitors to explore the emotions, thoughts, and inspirations behind the iconic artist’s creations.
As you step inside, you’ll be transported into Frida Kahlo’s personal universe. The museum features various thematic rooms that recreate significant moments from her life. One particularly impactful room is the “Cuarto Oscuro” (Dark Room), where you’ll explore Frida’s relationship with her father, Guillermo Kahlo—a pivotal figure in shaping her artistic sensibility.
Another standout space is “El Sueño” (The Dream), an ethereal area where Frida’s words and voice guide visitors through her deepest thoughts, revealing the dreams and nightmares that inspired her art.
Each room engages the senses through visual, auditory, and olfactory stimuli, immersing visitors in Frida’s world. The museum also addresses a pivotal event in her life: the accident she suffered on September 17, 1925, which profoundly impacted her existence and artistic journey.
Beyond being a mere exhibition space, Frida Kahlo by Woman Experiences serves as a meeting point between art and social activism. With support from UN Women, the project aims to promote gender equality—an issue Frida Kahlo championed both personally and professionally.
The museum accommodates intimate, personalized tours for groups of up to 20 people, lasting approximately 50 minutes. Continuous access is available, with entry every 15 minutes.
Ticket categories cater to all audiences. General admission for ages 13 and above costs $500 MXN, while children aged 6 to 12 can enter for $300 MXN. Admission is free for children under 6, individuals with disabilities, and tour guides. The museum also provides facilities for those with reduced mobility and strollers.
Operating daily from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM, the museum’s last entry is at 5:15 PM. Visitors are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes early to fully immerse themselves in the experience from the outset.
