In response to overwhelming demand from its residents, Mayor Diego Castañón Trejo has announced the opening of a new beach access in this stunning coastal town. This newest addition will become operational on April 14th, joining an existing network of over 15 beaches that cater to the community’s need for seaside recreation.

Speaking on this occasion, Mayor Castañón expressed his commitment to listening to and addressing the needs of Tulum’s residents. “Access to the sea has been a long-standing demand from our people,” he noted. “We’ve taken this into account and are pleased to confirm the opening of this new access.”

The new beach site promises an array of activities for local families, including safe facilities that will cater to different preferences. Tulum is indeed undergoing transformation, and Mayor Castañón believes it’s happening for and by its people.

Juan Antonio Garza, Director of the Federal Maritime-Terrestrial Zone (Zofemat), highlighted the collaborative effort behind this project. Zofemat has partnered with the National Commission of Protected Natural Areas and the Center for Environmental Culture to ensure that recreational activities like yoga classes are integrated into the site. These activities will be open to everyone.

The new access is set to open on April 14th, during Holy Week, with all facilities available. The site includes clean restrooms, areas for people with disabilities, and common spaces. Security measures will also be implemented to ensure a peaceful experience for children and the general public.

Located near the Mirador Templo within the National Park, this new access is designed to offer a family-friendly atmosphere while maintaining the safety and security that Tulum is known for.
