The Maya Train Factor: The corrupt network used shell companies that ultimately obtained contracts and operated on Mexico’s mega-railway project.

Spanish media outlets such as ABC and La Razón revealed that companies involved in the corruption case known as the “Koldo Case” obtained contracts for the construction of the Maya Train.

Among those implicated are former Spanish minister José Luis Ábalos, his advisor Koldo García, and businessman Víctor de Aldama, who traveled to Mexico in 2019 to negotiate these contracts with members of the Morena party and representatives of the current administration, including Ricardo Monreal.
