The governor of the state, Mauricio Kuri González, announced that the possibility of allocating additional funds to address the demand for beds at the General Hospital of Querétaro will be analyzed.
This comes after medical personnel reported that the healthcare system has become overwhelmed and that up to 30 nurses have resigned.
In response, Kuri González indicated that the hospital has indeed reached capacity and that they are analyzing how to address the demand.
Mauricio Kuri pointed out that the General Hospital of Querétaro has a capacity of 130 beds, but due to population growth, it has been exceeded.
He ruled out the possibility of using the old hospital, as it would have to be demolished to build a new one.
The governor stated that the application process for staff to fill vacant positions remains open.
