Lynx Air started its inaugural flight to Mexico on February 15, with departure from Toronto Pearson International Airport and arrival at Cancun International Airport. The Canadian airline will make six direct flights per week between Toronto and Cancun, which amounts to more than 2,000 seats per week in both directions.

“Lynx Air flew through the skies for the first time less than two years ago, and we are delighted to expand to Mexico, the third country that is already part of our network. The choice of Cancun as our first beach destination was easy: it is a very popular vacation spot among Canadians, with its famous beaches, its hospitality and, of course, its good weather,” said Vijay Bathija, Lynx’s commercial director.

“Cancun is our most demanded international destination, with more than 2,000 passengers heading to the beach every day,” said Kurush Minocher, executive director of airline relations, Greater Toronto Area Airport Authority.

For his part, Carlos Trueba, director of the Cancun Airport, said: “Today is a great day of celebration for the Cancun International Airport, as we welcome Lynx Air to our family. With this new connectivity, I trust that together we will boost tourism between Cancun and Toronto.”

To celebrate Lynx’s inaugural service in Cancun, the airline launched a limited-time offer, offering up to 25% off, with fares starting from $159 Canadian dollars, with taxes and fees included. The offer ends on February 18.
