At six in the morning the L’Etape Cancún of the Tour de France started, in Malecón Tajamar

With more than a thousand national and foreign cyclists, lined up at the start, at six o’clock in the morning the L’Etape Cancún by Tour de France started on Malecón Tajamar.

The cyclists enrolled in the long and short routes, clad in the Santini commemorative jersey, began the route at the starting whistle, which was carried out by the state and municipal authorities after the countdown.

In the peloton there were competitors from Colombia. Peru, Costa Rica, the United States and of course Mexico and some European countries, who from the start sought to be among the leaders in their respective distances.

The Mexican delegation is made up of Mexico City, Cozumel, La Paz, Acapulco, Puebla, Querétaro, and Cancún, to name a few cities.

The start looked colorful in the middle of an unbeatable sunrise so that the cyclists could meet their distances either in 60 kilometers or 110 kilometers of travel, passing through Bonampak avenue, Kukulkan boulevard, returning to the finish area through Luis Donaldo Colosio.

This international speed competition allows fans of the world of cycling to live the experience and essence of the greatest French gala in a setting the size of Cancun.

On the route there is a speed challenge for the cyclist, in both branches, who completes the shortest time from kilometer 22 to 28.5, to give a different and a special touch to the competition.
