Playa del Carmen, Q. Roo.- Around 10 drivers affiliated with the CTM began a protest this morning outside the company Ingenieros Civiles y Asociaciones (ICA), demanding payment for their services in transporting asphalt to the Tren Maya construction sites.
At around 9 a.m., these drivers parked two large trucks outside the company’s offices located on South Avenue in this city.
With banners attached to the trucks, bearing messages like “We Demand Our Payment ICA,” the drivers claimed they have not received payment for their transportation services to the railway works since February.
They also mentioned that they might block Juárez Avenue in the coming hours if no company executive comes to the site to make the corresponding payment.
They indicated that several drivers are in this situation, who are tired of demanding payment for their services without a concrete response.
As of noon this Wednesday, the drivers assured that they will not stop their protest actions until they receive what is legally owed to them and do not rule out bringing more trucks as a form of pressure.
