40,400 deaths with 11.34% case fatality rate

In Mexico, 40,400 people have died, victims of the new coronavirus. The case-fatality rate is 11.34%, well above the world average reported by the World Health Organization, corresponding to 4.2%. As for deaths, Mexico is the number four country in the world that has registered the most perished , above China, Spain, France, Italy, Russia, Sweden and India.

In confirmed accumulated cases, the Mexican Republic registers 356,255 positives, of which 13.60% (48,448 cases) are considered as active, that is, they represent the population currently ill with COVID-19, which is of greater danger of contagion for third parties. and that her symptoms were recorded in the recent 14 days.

63.8% of cases have recovered satisfactorily

According to information from the Ministry of Health, 227,165 cases successfully recovered are officially registered , which represents 63.8% of the total cases confirmed to date.

Mexico City and the State of Mexico, the epicenter of the pandemic

The center of the country has suffered the most damage from the coronavirus outbreak. In Mexico City alone, there have been 64,431 positive cases, 8,354 deaths, and it is currently estimated to house 6,156 people with active disease. The Mexican entity is the second most attended , as it reports 47,253 accumulated infections, 5,814 deaths and has 4,335 estimated active cases. Between both states, they house a third of national cases.

Nine more states exceed two thousand estimated active infections

In addition to the State of Mexico and Mexico City, nine states exceed two thousand active infections. These are Nuevo León (3,601), Guanajuato (3,174), Veracruz (2,841), Coahuila (2,490), Tamaulipas (2,453), Tabasco (2,379), San Luis Potosí (2,208), Puebla (2,207) and Jalisco (2,069) . Among these nine states, they harbor 40% of the estimated active disease in our country.
