The Tulum Civil Protection Department reported that Hurricane Beryl, now a category 4 storm, is approaching the Barlovento Islands with probable impact expected between tonight and tomorrow morning. According to the latest data from the Miami National Hurricane Center, it is expected to start moving towards the Caribbean Sea as a major hurricane (categories 3, 4 or 5) starting tomorrow, but due to existing vertical shear, its winds are expected to decrease in intensity and category.
The uncertainty cone until Thursday and Friday remains wide, so a direct impact on Tulum cannot be confirmed yet.
