Following the tension sparked by a call to lynch a Cuban national—stemming from an altercation involving a dog—residents of Cancún gathered at his home and hurled stones at the residence to express their outrage.

The incident unfolded around 7:09 p.m., when military personnel mobilized to a residence located near Uxmal Avenue on Palmeras Street, following the circulation of a social media post urging people to attack the accused individual.

Upon arriving at the scene, authorities encountered only a small group of people—far fewer than the large crowd that had been anticipated.

Realizing that the man was not inside the residence, some of those present began throwing stones at the building’s facade, allegedly with the intent to intimidate him.

According to preliminary reports, the conflict originated after the Cuban national allegedly assaulted a Mexican citizen who had confronted him regarding a dog bite.

Minutes later, additional patrol cars and security personnel arrived; their presence caused the citizens to disperse and cease their attacks on the residence.

The projectiles caused material damage to the property, damaging a water storage tank, several windows, and the main entrance gate.

Subsequently, police officers entered the premises and confirmed that the house was empty.
