Felipe Carrillo Puerto International Airport in Tulum is closing 2024 with the operation of 12 airlines offering various national and international destinations. The latest addition to its connectivity is the arrival of flights from Montreal and Quebec, Canada, through Air Transat.

Jorge Molina Pérez, director of Tourism Promotion for the Tulum City Council, announced that the Montreal-Tulum flight landed on December 19 with 158 passengers, including families, seniors, couples, and groups of friends, all excited to arrive in the Mexican Caribbean.

“With the start of Air Transat operations, which received significant publicity at Montreal airport, we expect an increase in travelers and high occupancy rates for the year-end in Tulum. We aim to continue attracting this type of traveler,” said Molina Pérez.

He emphasized the need to adapt services to cater to travelers who speak both English and French, ensuring a welcoming experience for tourists arriving directly in Tulum and departing on direct flights to Canada.

The Montreal-Tulum route will be available from December 19, 2024, to April 27, 2025, operating three times a week (Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays). The Quebec-Tulum route will offer flights every Saturday from December 21, 2024, to April 26, 2025.

The airport in the Mayan jungle began its international flights in March with airlines such as Delta, United, American, Jet Blue, Air Canada, Copa, and Westjet. This December alone, it has added five new flights: Volaris with Guadalajara-Tulum, Avianca from Bogotá, Discover with Frankfurt, Sunwing to and from Montreal, and now Air Transat with Montreal and Quebec.
