As part of the agreements made in the recent Binational Business Alliance Quintana Roo-Belize, a delegation from the National Chamber of Commerce, Services, and Tourism (Canaco Servytur) Chetumal-Tulum participated in the Coconut and Corn Fair in the neighboring country of Belize.
The Coconut and Corn Fair was held at Chactemal Plaza in Corozal, Belize, and the Canaco Servytur Chetumal-Tulum delegation was led by Oyuki Padrón, general director of the business chamber.
The Canaco Servytur Chetumal delegation also included representatives from the Bacalar Canaco delegation.
During the Coconut and Corn Fair in Corozal, Belize, cultural activities were held with bands from local secondary schools, as well as tastings of numerous products made with coconut and corn.
Canaco Servytur Chetumal-Tulum participated with a stand where information about the business sector of southern Quintana Roo was shared through brochures, and tourist attractions, gastronomy, culture, and hotels of the Grand Costa Maya in the southern Mexican Caribbean, as well as the commerce industry, were promoted.
The inauguration was attended by Rigoberto Vellos, mayor of Corozal Town Council; Efrén Pérez, president of the Belize Tourism Industry Association, Corozal Chapter; Luis González Salazar, director of Tourism Development of the Othón P. Blanco Municipality; Oyuki Padrón, general director of Canaco Servytur Chetumal-Tulum; and Hermes Gómez Koyoc, delegate of Canaco Bacalar.
Recently, representatives of business chambers and officials from Belize and Quintana Roo announced the “Quintana Roo-Belize Business Alliance,” seeking greater linkage in tourism and business matters and to jointly solve common problems through an inter-institutional table in which authorities from all three levels of government from both countries will also participate.
