Boat Sinks at Coco Beach Due to Strong Winds and Waves in Playa del Carmen

A boat sank this morning at Coco Beach, located in the Xaman Ha neighborhood, due to adverse weather conditions that included strong winds and waves.

The incident occurred around 11:00 AM when two fishermen tried to take their boat out of the sea, but the strong winds and waves caused the boat to succumb.

While attempting to maneuver the boat out of the water, the waves covered the boat, causing the interior to fill with water, leading it to almost completely sink.

Fortunately, the two individuals involved managed to swim to shore without any injuries.

Nearby tourist service providers tried to assist in the efforts to rescue the boat, but the strong waves prevented any attempt to remove the boat from the water.

It is expected that once the weather conditions improve, another attempt to rescue the boat can be made.

Adverse conditions along the coast of Playa del Carmen have persisted in recent hours, leading to the suspension of various maritime activities in the region.
