More than 320 million people around the world made their preferences clear when listening to music on the streaming platform. Again, Latin rhythms prevailed by sweeping the global ranking shared by Spotify.
Our country followed the global trend by establishing Bad Bunny at number one. The singer collected more than 8.3 billion streams from users around the world with his hits, mainly from his album YHLQMDLG, which arrived in February of this year, a few months before the Coronavirus pandemic was declared.
This is the second year in a row that the artist has achieved such success. His album also tops the list of the most listened to albums of the year and his single Safaera is the fourth of the lists of songs most listened to by Mexicans.
Everything clearly indicates that reggaeton conquered the Mexicans and that it was a companion of isolation in quarantine. Latinos dominating the world
As we mentioned earlier, Latino artists have also dominated streaming from Spotify. This year, 5 of 20 artists in the Global Top 20 are Latino: Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Anuel AA, Ozuna and Daddy Yankee, all of them, representatives of the reggaeton genre.
