Armed Attack on Harem Club Bar in Playa del Carmen

In the early hours of Monday, an armed attack occurred at the Harem Club bar in the Ejido neighborhood of Playa del Carmen. The incident took place around 1:00 a.m. on December 9, when unknown assailants fired shots at the facade of the establishment.

The attack happened on 8th Street and 115th Avenue, an area known for its commercial activity. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as the bar was closed at the time. Neighbors, alarmed by the loud gunfire, promptly alerted emergency services by calling 911.

Municipal police officers and personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) quickly arrived at the scene to cordon off the area and begin investigations. Experts found at least six spent shells, which were collected as evidence.

The incident led to a rapid mobilization of various authorities, who have initiated proceedings to identify those responsible. As of now, investigations are ongoing, and no official statement has been issued regarding the motive of the attack or any possible suspects.
