Alma Animal Tulum Association Organizes Free Sterilization Campaign for Pets of Low-Income Families

222

This campaign aims to provide a vital service to those who cannot afford the procedure, while also promoting animal welfare in the community.

The civil association Alma Animal Tulum will carry out a free sterilization campaign on October 27, 2024, aimed at street animals and those belonging to low-income families.

The event will take place at the Mivet Tulum clinic, located at Calle Okot 881, Tulum Centro, and will be limited to 100 pets, so it is recommended to follow the established requirements to participate.

Sterilizing dogs and cats is a key measure for controlling the animal population and preventing overpopulation issues on the streets.

Requirements to Participate:

  • Strict fasting for 12 hours (no food or water); for captured animals, this requirement should be consulted beforehand.
  • The pet’s guardian must be an adult.
  • Only animals older than 4 months are accepted.
  • Females in heat or pregnant will be operated on.
  • Animals must be in good health and presented clean.
  • Dogs must be on a leash, and if aggressive, must wear a muzzle.
  • Cats must be transported in a shopping bag, carrier, or similar; boxes will not be accepted.
  • It is recommended to bring a clean blanket to keep the pet comfortable during recovery.
  • Brachycephalic breeds (such as pugs, bulldogs, shih tzus) will not be accepted; if it is a mix, it will be evaluated by the veterinarians.
  • The guardian must sign a medical waiver and be available, as the process may take longer than expected.
