Last night, the incident occurred on Beta Sur Street and 2 de Octubre Avenue in the Centro neighborhood of this city. An emergency call to 911 alerted authorities to a man lying in a public area with a head wound, though he remained conscious.
Municipal police officers and paramedics responded to the scene, stabilizing the victim before transporting him to IMSS 18 Clinic in Playa del Carmen. He was admitted in critical condition after 11:00 PM.
The man has been identified as Cristian Saúl B. R., apparently carrying credentials as a worker on the Tren Maya’s segment 5.
Subsequently, the municipal police reported the incident to the State Attorney General’s Office for further investigation.
