Very heavy rains will hit Durango, Chihuahua, Guerrero and Oaxaca this Tuesday: SMN

MEXICO CITY (apro).- This Tuesday the National Meteorological Service (SMN) predicts that the Mexican monsoon in the northwest of the country, in combination with the entry of humidity from the Pacific Ocean, will cause heavy to very heavy rains with electrical shocks and gusts of wind in Sinaloa, Chihuahua and Durango.

On the other hand, low pressure channels over the northern, central and southeastern region of the national territory, in addition to the Yucatan Peninsula, combined with the entry of humidity from both oceans, will cause showers and heavy rains over entities in those regions, with occasional very strong rains forecast in Guerrero and Oaxaca.

On the other hand, an anticyclonic circulation at medium and high levels of the atmosphere will cause an increase in evening temperatures in most of Mexico, with temperatures above 40 °C in Sonora and Sinaloa.

Rain forecast:

Heavy rains with very strong spots (50 to 75 mm): Chihuahua, Durango, Guerrero and Oaxaca.

Intervals of showers with heavy occasional rains (25 to 50 mm): Sinaloa, Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán, Chiapas and Veracruz.

Shower intervals (5 to 25 mm): Nayarit, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, Zacatecas, Puebla, Tlaxcala, State of Mexico, Mexico City, Morelos, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatán and Quintana Roo.

Isolated rains (0.1 to 5 mm): Sonora, Coahuila, San Luis Potosí, Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, Querétaro and Hidalgo.

Occasional heavy to very heavy rains could reduce visibility on stretches of road, cause an increase in the levels of rivers and streams, as well as generate landslides, floods and flooding.
