Ultramar, the ferry company, has announced that due to Hurricane Beryl, ferry crossings from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel and from Cancún to Isla Mujeres will be suspended on Friday, July 5. Despite this, the company is currently operating normally, and crossings to Isla Mujeres will continue until noon on Wednesday and Thursday. Ultramar has been providing constant updates through various platforms to inform passengers about their operations.
According to Ultramar personnel, they are closely monitoring the situation. If weather conditions allow, they plan to resume service on Saturday, July 6.
On Tuesday, the ferry terminal in Puerto Juárez, Cancún, was bustling with tourists crossing to Isla Mujeres, both American and national visitors, who remained calm and relaxed despite the potential impact of the hurricane on Quintana Roo’s coast.
Ultramar advises passengers to check their website for real-time updates. As a precautionary measure, the company has removed advertising billboards since Tuesday morning. Tour operators are also continuing their activities, but they will respond promptly if the Port Captaincy announces port closures on Wednesday or Thursday.
