The State Attorney General’s Office executed an arrest warrant against two Cubans identified as Alexander “N” and Andys Luis “N” for their alleged involvement in assault and threats against an elderly woman and her son in the Villas Morelos subdivision of the municipality of Othón P. Blanco, according to the head of the agency, Raciel López Salazar.
According to the Attorney General’s Office, the case also led to a protest organized on social media to gather outside the home of one of the accused with the intention of lynching him. Authorities assert that their intervention prevented the protest from escalating.
The events under investigation occurred on May 25 of this year, when the woman arrived at her home in Villas Morelos and was approached by Alexander “N,” with whom she has had a long-standing conflict, according to the account presented by the Attorney General’s Office. The reason, they maintain, is a neighborhood dispute: the man lives next door and allegedly built a wall without respecting the boundaries of the affected woman’s property.
The Prosecutor’s Office states that, due to this situation, Alexander “N” allegedly punched the woman in the head, between her forehead and eye, causing her to bleed. Then, when her son came to her aid, the official report indicates that he was also assaulted by the same man and his companion, Andys Luis “N”.
According to the authorities, after the assault, the two foreigners left the scene. Later, the incident was captured on video and shared by social media users, prompting a call to gather at the alleged assailant’s home.
The head of the Prosecutor’s Office, Raciel López Salazar, reports that the Public Prosecutor’s Office requested and obtained an arrest warrant from a judge. With this judicial order, the authorities located the suspects, arrested them, and presented them before the appropriate court for the corresponding legal proceedings.
The Prosecutor’s Office indicates that the victims’ identities are being withheld. He added that, within the constitutional timeframe, the judicial authority will determine the legal status of Alexander “N” and Andys Luis “N” regarding the charges of assault and threats.
López Salazar announced the case during the Security Roundtable press conference. Also participating in the presentation were Cristina Torres Gómez, Secretary of Government; Rear Admiral Julio César Gómez Torres, Secretary of Citizen Security; Captain Napoleón Ibarra, Head of the Operations Section of the Mexican Navy; and Colonel José Alfredo Salazar Benítez, Commander of the Seventh Cavalry Regiment of the Mexican Army.
Last week, another confrontation between neighbors in Cancún escalated into an episode of collective violence that mobilized various security forces in Superblock 23, after an argument related to an alleged dog bite quickly escalated and sparked outrage on social media.
It all began when a Mexican citizen went to a residence to inquire about a dog that had allegedly attacked him. According to recordings circulating online, the man was simply trying to confirm whether the animal had been vaccinated against rabies and requested to see its vaccination record.
Residents questioned the speed and scale of the police response to protect the alleged aggressor’s home.
However, the verbal exchange escalated and ended in a physical altercation. According to later reports, the alleged perpetrator was a man identified as Rigoberto “N,” of Cuban origin. Images of the altercation began circulating widely on digital platforms, generating a wave of comments and outrage among users and residents of the area.
