Human Remains Found in Tulum’s Lakin Neighborhood

A macabre discovery shocked the residents of Tulum’s Lakin neighborhood when human remains were found next to a trash can at the intersection of Neptuno and Orión Sur streets, near Rotario Park.

The report was received by the 9-1-1 emergency number, prompting various security agencies to respond swiftly. The Municipal Preventive Police quickly cordoned off the area to preserve the crime scene. Minutes later, agents from the National Guard, the Navy, and the State Police arrived to reinforce security and assist in the operation.

Local and federal authorities are working together to investigate the incident. The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) has taken control of the investigation, deploying the Investigative Police and forensic services to the scene. They collected evidence, photographed the area, and transported the remains to the Forensic Medical Service (SEMEFO) for analysis.

Authorities have also implemented operations in the area to gather information and determine whether a crime was committed.
