Hoteliers in Playa del Carmen are reporting losses and cancellations due to the uncertainty surrounding Hurricane Beryl.

Offner Arjona, the president of small hotels in Playa del Carmen, shared that they had high expectations for July due to vacation season. However, with the hurricane’s approach, small hotels have been receiving emails and calls from guests either postponing or canceling reservations. This situation is expected to continue until August.

While Acapulco recently dealt with Hurricane Otis, Quintana Roo has experience in handling such situations, particularly in terms of prevention and recovery after the impact of natural phenomena. Hoteliers are closely monitoring official channels to provide timely information to guests and prevent panic or alarm.
