Neighbors in the Portoalto neighborhood of Playa del Carmen have reported irregularities by Grupo Javer in the construction of their homes.
Residents of the Portoalto neighborhood in Playa del Carmen have created a website to warn people about the risks of buying a home in that area.
With testimonies from aggrieved individuals and backed by a technical study conducted by a civil engineer (whom they paid with their own resources); they expose Grupo Javer for defrauding all these people who now discourage potential buyers from acquiring another home.
“What Javer doesn’t want you to know” is a portal where at least 41 families were defrauded. They share the ordeal this has meant for them. It’s worth noting that in March 2023, the first homes were delivered in this neighborhood located to the west of Playa del Carmen, behind the Marsella development. The affected residents have incurred bank debts, as the homes are valued at over 2 million pesos.
With concrete evidence, they alert potential buyers about how the development operates and how it pressures them to pay before home delivery. Among the irregularities reported by neighbors are poorly constructed and misaligned rooms, as well as water leaks that have resulted in debts exceeding 50,000 pesos for residents. Additionally, the streets easily flood during rain due to insufficient drainage wells, and common areas, including the pool, also exhibit various irregularities.
They pointed out that the materials used are inadequate for the construction.
The company, far from resolving the issues, has evaded responsibility, as the affected residents have repeatedly stated. Faced with this lack of response, they are warning others to avoid going through the same ordeal.
