The architect Alfredo Solorio Molina, president of the College of Architects of the Riviera Maya and host of this edition of the biennale, thanked the participation “of the federation and the four sister schools of the state for the realization of this contest that fulfilled the objective to be a showcase to recognize the quality and essence of the architecture of the Mexican Caribbean ”.

The president of the FCARM, Aldo Paul Ortega Molina, and the secretary of Sustainable Urban Territorial Development of the state, Carlos Ríos Castellanos, on behalf of the governor Carlos Joaquín González, presented the highest award of this biannual contest in the category of sustainable architecture from the office of the architect Daniel Cota Tirado, author of Glass House, a glasshouse in the middle of the Mayan jungle with avant-garde architecture, selected by the qualifying jury for its quality, impact, social significance and contribution to architecture.

“I would like to say that there is another tourism that you have to look at in the state. Not only the beautiful beaches, but there is also another part that we can take advantage of and that is the jungle. I think you have to turn to the jungle and sustainability because there is much to take advantage of nature, “said Cota Tirado, winner of the gold medal.

Glass House is located in the municipality of Puerto Morelos, it is promoted on Airbnb as an example of a “glamping experience” and is for rent at $2,864 pesos per night.
