Four foreigners who stole bank cards are arrested in Playa del Carmen

PLAYA DEL CARMEN, MX.- The State Attorney General’s Office arrested four individuals of foreign origin involved in the robbery of bank cardholders in a subdivision of Playa del Carmen.

In a statement, it was announced that in collaboration with the Coordination Group for the Construction of Peace and Security of Quintana Roo, they completed an arrest warrant against four foreigners for their possible participation in the crime of fraud to the detriment of a banking institution.

The detainees were identified as William “B”, Édgar “R”, Félix “H” and Omar “D”, who were detained in the Fraccionamiento Misión Villamar Uno, and transferred to the Municipal Detention Center of Playa del Carmen.

According to the information provided, these people changed account holder cards, with which from 2020 to date they carried out operations for tens of thousands of pesos.

In this sense, the authorities estimate that the amount of the fraud would be 49,000 pesos, a figure that could increase as other illegal operations continue to be investigated.

The four foreigners were made available to the control judge, who will be in charge of defining their legal situation.
