A few days after being inaugurated, the new Tulum International Airport already operates with Mexican airlines and is about to give way to international airline operations, here we tell you what they are.

Strategically located in the municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Tulum Airport not only promises to be an architectural jewel, but also an effective solution to improve the mobility of travelers in the Mexican Caribbean region.

Since last August 25, the first to join this exciting journey to Tulum were the Mexican airlines Viva Aerobus and Aeroméxico.

Viva Aerobus plans to connect the new airport with five national destinations, including Mexico City International Airport (AICM), Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), Guadalajara, Monterrey and Tijuana.

For its part, Aeroméxico has its sights set on the United States, with destinations such as San Francisco and Chicago, as well as Canada and various Mexican cities.

The most exciting news comes with the revelation of Delta Air Lines, the first international airline to establish a direct route from the “Felipe Carrillo Puerto” Airport to the United States.

American Airlines, scheduled to operate beginning March 28, will offer four daily flights, including service to Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), Charlotte (CLT) and Miami (MIA).

For its part, United Airlines is also joining the journey with direct flights from Newark/New York, Houston, Chicago and Los Angeles, with the fourth flight beginning as seasonal service from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

What airlines operate at Tulum airport?

On the official site of the Tulum International Airport it was announced that the airlines that already have flights to or from this destination are Aeroméxico and Viva Aerobus.

Likewise, it points to the new Mexicana de Aviación, although this airline has not yet embarked on its first trip and Tulum is not shown as a destination on its official site.
