The work will have four lanes, one bicycle lane and three 3.5 meter wide vehicular lanes.

Mara Lezama announced this Thursday the progress of the long-awaited Nichupté Bridge, one of the mega-projects of the Federal Government scheduled to be inaugurated in the first months of 2024, and which will be completely free.

The Governor of the State of Quintana Roo, accompanied by the Secretary of Sustainable Urban Territorial Development (SEDETUS), Armando Lara De Nigris, supervised the progress of the 8.8 kilometer structure, which is being built in Cancún, in collaboration with the Federal Government.

They anticipate that the Nichupté Bridge will become an icon of the city, strengthening civil protection and reducing inequality gaps.

Governor Lezama emphasized that this work will have four lanes, one bicycle lane and three 3.5-meter-wide vehicular lanes, one of them reversible. In addition, the importance of building it with attention to safety and care for the environment was highlighted, preserving the wealth and natural heritage of Quintana Roo.

The governor praised the design and architecture of the bridge, which includes 228 supports and an arch-shaped steel clearing to avoid a cenote in the lagoon body.

It should be noted that this bridge will be free to use and open to the public, as announced by the Federal Government.

“This bridge will be extraordinary, with cutting-edge technology, and will serve as a vital link for the residents and visitors of Cancun,” said Mara Lezama. The construction of the Nichupté Bridge is carried out in a constant and coordinated manner 24 hours a day, in line with the New Agreement for the Well-being and Development of Quintana Roo.
