The Quintana Roo Tourism Promotion Council, directed by Darío Flota Ocampo, announced that it maintains its efforts focused on promoting tourist destinations in the Mexican Caribbean and contributing to a successful economic reactivation.

In Cozumel, air connectivity was increased with the restart of the routes from Chicago and Denver with United Airlines, both in Boeing 737-900 units, with one frequency per week (on Saturdays), while starting on December there will be two Denver flights, Saturdays and Sundays.

In this way, the increase in the arrival of American tourists contributes to the economic reactivation of the island.

“We are very happy with the arrival of these flights prior to the start of the winter season, which indicates that we will have an end of the year with a greater number of tourists.

The tourism promotion efforts that we have carried out in recent months through seminars with travel agents, campaigns, and work meetings with airline representatives, to whom we have shared topics such as the Health Protection and Prevention Certification developed by the State Secretary of Tourism, it has been fundamental for the airlines to restart the frequencies as soon as possible and to hold sporting events, ”said the general director of the CPTQ, Darío Flora Ocampo.

He explained that Cozumel maintains international air connectivity with Houston, Chicago and Denver, through United Airlines, as well as with Dallas, Miami and Charlotte through American Airlines. Also, during this month Montreal and Toronto will be reactivated by Air Canada, while before the end of the year Sun Country will restart the route from Minneapolis and Westjet will connect with Toronto in 2021.
